You are being tracked, and you don’t even know it!

The Digital World: A Double-Edged Sword

Most everyone is all in this digital world. Very few people are without a modern phone, internet, modern TVs, or some sort of “Alexa” type device. These have become normal, everyday items that most of the population uses daily. We have all become completely decentralized, and it’s a problem. The vast majority has no idea what having these items means for them.

Understanding Your Cell Phone Contract

When you sign up for a cell phone subscription, you accept the terms and conditions set by the phone company. Shockingly, 99% of cell phone users have no idea what the contract says. In the contract, it states you are subject to tracking and data collection, and the phone company is allowed to sell your information.

Ever wonder why you and someone else discuss a specific topic or item, then your phone shows you advertisements about those items? That’s because your phone is listening to you, ALWAYS! It is always listening, and your conversations are being recorded. Alexa and Siri operate the same way. They are always listening.

The Hidden Dangers of Modern TVs

Modern TVs have cameras and speakers in them. The idea is they can be hooked up to computers and/or the internet and used as larger auxiliary screens. However, these TVs can be remotely accessed by hackers or other people with bad intentions without your knowledge.

Your Vehicle: A Surveillance Tool

How about your new 2025 vehicle? YES, it is not only listening; when you connect your cell phone via cable or Bluetooth, your phone and its content are copied to your vehicle's computer nodes. Your new vehicle tracks where you are going, and the exterior cameras photograph and store images of speed limit signs, road signs, and other location-specific items. Many vehicles now have cameras in the rear-view mirror that capture images of anyone in the vehicle. Your vehicle is spying on you.

When you drive past certain locations where car companies have set up data collection towers/systems, the information is automatically uploaded wirelessly through these towers to the vehicle companies. The data is then studied, sold, and/or stored.

The Reality of Constant Surveillance

We are under constant surveillance. Most of the items we have in our daily lives are spying on us. Why does this matter? Someone is watching you during your most intimate moments with your spouse, kids, family, and friends. For no other reason than making money and tracking what you're doing. How does it make you feel to know someone is always watching?

The Legality of Surveillance

How can this be legal? It’s simple: it’s free enterprise. Having a cell phone, a TV, a computer, or a vehicle is NOT a right. It is a privilege. You are entering into a contractual agreement, and if you don’t like the other party’s terms, you can walk away. You don’t have to sign that contract; you make a choice to do so. We believe these things are mandatory to live, but they are not. They were not mandatory 40 years ago, and they are not mandatory now.

A Cautionary Tale

I recently heard a story of a lady who responded to an email she received from an insurance company to get a new quote on home insurance. Within 30 minutes, she had over a dozen phone calls from different insurance companies. There was fine print in the email stating she could be contacted by multiple insurance companies and was agreeing to certain terms and conditions by responding. Please, read the fine print.

Protecting Your Privacy

You are being tracked by almost every electronic device you own. Your privacy is being infringed upon. By increasing your knowledge and understanding of what is actually happening, you can take steps to better protect yourself. Our e-book has plenty of information to help you protect yourself.

Stay safe and God bless.

Justin
